Venus Be Mine...

Women weren't made for the purpose of ogling!!!

Since the beginning of time, genetical structure has dictated that the male of the species that would be the more prominent and dominent of both sexes. But history has proven this theory wrong (as usual) !!

In most societies (this being both the animal kingdom, our society, insect world and what have you), the male does the hunting, or putting bread and butter on the table if you would have it, and the female would tend to the young. And due to this, many cultures have this tendency to incline to males in terms of the working world, education, and sports(this is my favourite).

And since the female was capable of thinking for "her"self, she has thought why she should be subservient and loyal to her male counterpart? Well, for the simple reason that its societies norm, or maybe it could be that the male keeps her in check by giving her a good thrashing (from whicever standpoint you choose to see it)!

So after much thought and beatings, the later generations began to become less and less dependant on the males. Such can be seen in the animal kingdom. Elephant herds only consist of the young and the females. When each male calf (bull) comes of age, he (it) is driven out of the herd and left to survive on its own. This can be seen also in an ant colony where the queen (obviously a female) lets the males do the work.

Even woman have conquered China, when she (China) was at her prime. The likes of Wu Zetian (first female ruler of China, and emperor of the Tang Dynasty), Empress Dowager Cixi ( self-explanatory) just to name a few. And over time more and more of such examples of females surpassing males have become evident and increasingly frequent. The most recent one being Angela Merkel (soon-to-be German Chancellor) in the German political circle.

You see, the clash between the sexes has become almost inevitable (ok maybe we can do away with almost).

Let me cite some examples of great women: Marie Curie (discovered radioactivity, the rest you know), Mother Theresa (championing humanitarian aid), Princess Diana Spencer of Wales (well i don't really know what she did, bt it was great) a pity she died young). You see! Women! The Next Big Thing (ok maybe they've always been there. but we've never noticed them)

Now on to sports.

We have the prodigious tennis sister duo --- Venus and Serena (the Willams sisters), they have conquered the tennis fraternity and have far outlived their expiry date. And more recently, we have the Russian tennis player , Maria Sharapova, breaking into the scene.

Annika Sorenstam, top woman golfer.

AND NOW MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE!!!

Foot note: This shot does have some artistic value doesn't it? A Michelle Wie pic a day, keeps the blues, doctors, conformists, nutjobs away !!! Couldn't agree more!

ANd most recently, the spotlight was cast on Hawaiin based golf WUNDERKID, Michelle Wie (my hands have been itching to reach this section). Her wish, to make the cut for the PGA tour, an all men event, and eventually qualify for the Masters. Now it wouldn't take a Michelle Lee to realize that these 2 event are totally MALE DOMINATED!! The media has been abuzz about her past achievements, speculating her future, and comparing her to Ernie Els and Tiger Woods.
She has also been ranked the richest female golfer in the world!
I don't think it will be long till she dominates the golf fratenity.

Actually its no big deal comsidering the accolades she has received over the years since she was 4.

ITS A VERY BIG DEAL!!!
Now with my rambling done, I'll be watching the media for news about the World Women's Championships at Bighorn (Michelle Wie is playing!!! I wouldn't care about it if it wasn't for MW)
So stay tuned to this column for my endless intellectual ramblings!!
Until next time, this is Gabriel Benjamin "Big Time Michelle Wie Sung-Mi Fan(atic)" Yue signing off...
